Scott Rhodes, 49, of Garner, NC passed away on January 2, 2018 in his home. Scott and his twin brother Mark were born in Bladenboro to Norman and Joy Rhodes on May 1, 1968. He attended Garner High School.
He was a VP at E-Z Glass and worked with the company for over 25 years. Scott was a talented person. Scott was full of life and was often described as the “life of the party”. He never met a stranger and made friends wherever he was. He was a loving and giving person and would do anything for anyone.
Scott was a man of many talents. Some of these talents included: mechanical engineering, welding, upholstery, construction, house building, commercial glass and metal storefront installation and service. One of his great joys was to ride his Harley motorcycle. He enjoyed taking long road trips on his bike and visiting new places.
Scott had many friends. He helped a great deal of people during his life even though he had his own struggles with depression. As we celebrate his life and remember him, so many will miss him dearly.
Scott is preceded in death by his father Norman Daniel Rhodes. Scott is survived by mother Joy Rhodes, his twin brother Mark Rhodes and wife, Tammie; nieces, Emily and Addisyn Rhodes; aunt, Georgia Smith and husband, Paul Smith; cousin, Leanne Rose and husband, Mike Rose. Scott also leaves behind extended family, Chris Alexander and wife, JoAnne, and their children Nate and Kati; Justin Alexander, wife Meredith and their daughters, Kaylah and Bryleigh.
Pallbearers will be Chris Alexander, Justin Alexander, Greg Rhodes, Cameron Rhodes, Dave Williams and Glenn Rhodes.
Memorials may be given to the Foundation of Hope, a Foundation that supports the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s critical research for cures for brain diseases and disorders. You may donate online at www.walkforhope.com in Scott’s honor or you may mail in a donation.
Scott’s father, Norman Rhodes, passed away December 7th. Services for both Scott and his father Norman will be help simultaneously. Visitation will be at McLaurin at Pinecrest Memorial Park Chapel in Clayton, NC at 12:30 on Sunday January 7th. The service will be immediately following at 2:30pm with burial to follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park with Pastor Carlton McDaniel officiating. Arrangements are by McLaurin Funeral Home.
Norman Daniel Rhodes Obituary
Norman Daniel Rhodes, 76, of Garner, NC, passed away on December 7th, 2017 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC after an extended illness.
Norma was born in Brunswick, NC to William Dawson and Essie Mae Rhodes on June 13, 1941.
Norman was a farmer and a pipefitter for Fluor Daniels Construction at Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant.
Norman was preceded in death by his mother and father William and Essie Mae Rhodes, his brothers Archie, Cordell and Carl Rhodes and his sister Lovie Hayes.
Norman was survived his twin sons, Scott Rhodes and Mark Rhodes and wife, Tammie, and granddaughters, Emily and Addisyn.
