He was born in Waverly, New York on July 28, 1946, to the late Paul T. Jennings and the late Marie Elizabeth Henley Jennings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother John B. Jennings.
Bob was a Veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Vietnam War era. He was a retired Resource Manager in the Federal Civil Service. His commitment to volunteerism marked Bob's life. He found joy in spending time with family and grandchildren and was a veracious reader who loved hiking and chasing lost golf balls. However, it was his dedication to serving others that truly defined him. Recently, he committed much of his time to the Central North Carolina Food Bank and local Christian Area Ministries (CAM). In the past, Bob's support extended to the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club with trail maintenance and Habitat for Humanity in their retail warehouse. He also served as a Representative Payee for adults with intellectual disabilities and led support groups for NAMI family support. He also volunteered as River Patrol at the Silver Springs State Park in Ocala, Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jeanne Bahl Jennings; two daughters, Christa Donnelly and Colleen Jennings; grandchildren, Samantha Nowicki, Carolyn Maier, Ben Donnelly, Emily Donnelly, and Mary Kathryn Pardoe; great grandchildren, Leia Buettner, Emmett Buettner, and Camden Maier; brothers and sisters, Ann Jones, Edward Jennings, Thomas Jennings, James Jennings, David Jennings, Richard Jennings, and Ronald Jennings.
