Rhonda Morgan Mooneyham

Rhonda Morgan Mooneyham, age 68, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 6, 2023 following complications from abdominal surgery.

Rhonda was born November 12, 1954 in Elevation Township to the late Felton and Lucille Parrish Morgan. She was a graduate of South Johnston High School and Johnston Technical Institute with a degree in Nursing. She has cared for countless numbers of people in her 44 years serving as a Nurse and in Quality Control Management at Johnston Memorial Hospital Smithfield, now UNC Health Johnston.

She was a beloved member of First Baptist Church, Clayton for 27 years where she faithfully taught the BASIC Sunday School Class, served on multiple committees, and worked with the children of the church.

Rhonda is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Ronald Mooneyham; son, Eric Mooneyham and wife, Christina; grandson, Walker; and a granddaughter, Keeley; sister, Hilda Creech and husband, Larry; niece, Natalie Smith and husband, Cody; nephew, Kevin Creech and wife, Annah; great nieces, Chandler Smith, Phoebe Creech, and Meadow Creech and many, many cousins and special friends. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Whitley.

Rhonda’s loving spirit and giving nature guided her days as she took care of others. Her favorite pastimes were spending time with family and friends; especially her grandchildren and her special boys, playing softball, cheering for the NC State Wolfpack, and cooking everyone’s favorite meals! She had a servant’s heart and always put others before herself.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 9:00AM to 10:30AM at the First Baptist Church of Clayton Fellowship Hall, 411 N Fayetteville St, Clayton, North Carolina 27520. A funeral service will follow at 11:00AM in the Sanctuary. An entombment will occur Tuesday at Pinecrest Memorial Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, Clayton General Fund.
