Buddy was born on November 27, 1953, in Portsmouth, VA, where he spent his early life, but his true home was North Carolina where he built lasting memories with loved ones and enjoyed pursuing his passions. He was a man of unwavering integrity and loyalty.
A cornerstone of Buddy's life was his love for the great outdoors. He found solace and joy in fishing and hunting in the woods. His children and grandchildren fondly recall the stories he shared about his adventures, igniting in them a deep appreciation for nature and its beauty.
Baseball was another great passion of Buddy's. He rarely missed a game, whether he was playing, coaching his children, grandchildren, and extended family on the finer points of the sport. His enthusiasm for baseball was contagious and brought joy to many.
Buddy was a dedicated family man, treasuring every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and extended family. His love and support were boundless, and he leaves behind a legacy of warmth and compassion. Alongside his outdoor pursuits, Buddy was a dedicated employee of Biggs HVAC who served as a second family to him.
Buddy is survived by his loving children, Lesley (Todd), Kenny, Jeramie, Nycki (Needham), his adoring grandchildren, Carolyn, Chloe, David, Paul, Bailie, Sabine, Gunnar, Kiersten, Sofyan, Brantley and Gavin. Buddy is also survived by his siblings Susan (Bob) and Therese. Buddy was preceded in death by his daughter Alicia.
Buddy will also be dearly missed by his nieces, nephews, and extended family members who were touched by his kindness and wisdom.
A memorial service celebrating Buddy's life will be held on Sunday, May 5th, 2024, at 2pm at McLaurin Funeral Home Chapel in Clayton NC. The family will accept visitors after the service at 4605 Bushy Branch Drive, Garner NC beginning at 4pm.
