Mildred Hayes McLamb

A native of Four Oaks, she is the daughter of the late Carlie D. Hayes and Annie Stanley Hayes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Daniel McLamb; son-in-law, Richard Earl Barbour; and sisters, Hilda Hayes Barnes and Rena Hayes Langdon.

Surviving are a daughter, Rita McLamb Barbour of Clayton, and a sister, Thelma Hayes Gay of Archdale.

Mrs. McLamb attended Four Oaks High School and Johnston Community College. She was a retired CNA who enjoyed traveling and trips to the beach. She possessed a strong faith and enjoyed reading and studying her Bible. Mrs. McLamb enjoyed her family, home, and helping others. She was a dedicated wife and mother who always had a smile on her face and kind words for those that she met. Family and friends referred to her as a sweet and loving lady who was a pleasure to spend time with. She was generous and had empathy for others.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 11:00 am in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with the family receiving friends immediately following the service. The committal service will follow Monday afternoon at Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Four Oaks.
