Linda Lou Ward

Linda L. Ward, 63, of Archer’s Lodge, passed away on September 9, 2017 at home. Linda was born in Minot, North Dakota to Lulu and Lyndon Sloan on August 14, 1954. She went to school at Chester High School in Chester, Montana. She married Thomas R. Ward on June 16, 1974 in Minot, North Dakota. She worked as a Health Information Specialist in Medical Records for WakeMed Hospital for 20 years. She was a dedicated US Air Force spouse for 20 years during Tom’s Air Force career. She was an active member of White Oak Baptist Church and participated in the Sunday morning Coffee House. Linda is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Tom; brother, Curtis Sloan of Great Falls, Montana; brothers and sisters in law, numerous nieces and nephews as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews. Linda is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Duaine Sloan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the White Oak Baptist Church’s Relay for Life team. The family of Linda wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the many doctors and nurses at Duke Eye Center, Duke Cancer Center, NC Retina, Raleigh Endocrine, Transitions Hospice Care and the White Oak Baptist Church family. Visitation will be at 11am on Saturday, September 16 at White Oak Baptist Church followed by the memorial service officiated by Dr. Baxter Prevatte at noon. Funeral arrangements are made with McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton, NC.
