Julius Donald Bass

Donald Bass, a retired CSX Railroad employee, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at the age of 85. Donald was born in Wilson County on June 19, 1937 to the late Leslie and Sallie Mae Braswell Bass. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 3:00 until 5:00pm at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jean Bass; daughters, Sharon Cox, Kimberly Lewis and Wendy Cencelewski; a son, Julius Donald Bass, Jr. and his wife, Juli. Grandchildren, Nikki Wolfe-Dudley and husband, Josh, Ashylyn Cencelewski, Jared Cox, CJ Lewis, Sarah Bass and Carolann Bass; great grandchildren, Benton Cox, Ivy Dudley and Kaden Squirewell; brother, Wayne Bass and his wife, Cathy; sister, Ann Hawley and her husband, Ron as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Donald is also preceded in death by his brothers, David Bass and Clifton Bass; sister, Yvonne Proctor and a grandson, Greg Cox.
