Joseph Pierson Jr. "Pops", 86, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2020 at home in Archer Lodge, NC. His loving wife, Patricia, and his darling daughter, Nancy, were with him as he breathed his last.
Joe was born to Elizabeth & Joseph Pierson Sr. on November 3, 1933 in Morristown, NJ. He settled in Cranberry Lake, NJ, built a house there for his family and was a valued member of the Cranberry Lake community until his retirement and eventual move to Archer Lodge, NC.
Joe spent his career with NJ Bell / AT&T / Lucent Technologies. He was an original Charter Member & Past Chief of The Cranberry Lake Fire Department, President of The Cranberry Lake Community Club & Honorary Lifetime Governor, President & Board Member of both The Lakeland Hills & Randolph YMCA Swim Team Parents Association, President & Board Member of Several Houses of Worship. “Pops” was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Gench Freundlich and his devoted son-in-law, Al, deceased husband of Nancy. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 59 years, Patricia; two sons, Joseph and David and his wife, Maureen, and his daughter, Nancy. He is also survived by his former daughter In-law, Cindy Pierson, grandchildren Candyce, Ryan, Cyarra, David Joseph, Michael & Christina and great grandchildren Riley, Zoey & Brayden Jeter.
There will be a Memorial Service held at a later date at Horne Memorial United Methodist of Clayton, NC. In lieu of flowers donations can be made for the New Building Fund @ Horne Memorial United Methodist Church, PO Box 475, Clayton, NC 27528.
