I just found out today from Rob that our dear friend and colleague Jack has passed away.  Rob’s message below describes how Jack was the ‘connector’ for our business group.  Such a delightful person to know and to have a good conversation about anything.   Having retired at the same time, we talked a lot about our plans for the future.  I am sure that his family will miss him dearly. 
A true gentleman and I am so glad that we crossed paths.

Jack, Ronald,  and I all retired around the same time. I worked with Jack for 7 years at Siemens and will always remember his concern for others and his wonderful sense of humor.  We started a tradition within our group called “Fun Friday Facts” as a means to lighten things up at the end of a busy week. Jack always offered something special to bring a little smile every Friday and learn something new.

I will miss Jack and his encouraging words.

Jack was the kindest, most loving brother a person could ever have.  He was someone I could count on and I was happy to return the favor.  We talked quite frequently and I miss him and those phone calls every day.  He was taken much too soon but he’s at peace.  A piece of my heart went with you, Jack.  Love you forever big guy.

Jack was a loving and trusting brother I never had, until I met him. I will miss and think of him everyday for the rest of my life. Everyday I will think of  one good memory we had together, which I know, will last the rest of my lifetime. I will miss you brother. Rest in peace for someday we will meet again.. Love you!!! Harry

Jack , our brother in law was the kindest, most generous person on this earth!  We Have not seen him in quite awhile and wish we could have gotten together at least one more time!!  We will be missing him immensely as will everyone that Jack has touched!  What a guy!!!  Love , Craig & Debbie

It was a privilege and a pleasure to care for Mr. Didie and his eyes.  I was so looking forward to helping him see better.  I am so sorry for your loss.  May his memory be eternal. 

I was fortunate to have worked with Jack over the last 10 years. He was always a pleasure to work with and always had something positive to say. Jack you will be missed by many. Rest In Peace. 

I am saddened by the loss of a generous and most loyal friend. We had just spoken at length only days earlier. We discussed among many things his recent retirement and the possibly of visiting him in the fall while vacationing in N.C.  This comes as a tremendous shock.  Jack and I worked together for over twenty years.  In work situations I learned to appreciate his optimism where I struggled to see it and gave others the benefit of the doubt when I had many.  I was the beneficiary in our friendship.
What I’ll always remember about Jack was his big smile, his truly caring about others and his great sense of humor. We had so many laughs over the years with my sarcasm and Jack always having a new joke at the ready.  I will truly miss you.

I was so sorry to hear of Jack's passing.  I had the pleasure of working with Jack at Siemens, starting back in 1995.  He had the misfortune of being one of the 7 guys working for me during my first effort at being a sales manager.   A week after our first meeting, Jack ended up getting a stint put in his heart.  Jack survived working for me, and I ended up learning a great deal about our business and how to work well with all kinds of people.  Jack was one of the most generous people I've known.  I'm better for having known Jack.  I will miss him very much.
