Jimmy Darius Greene, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. Jimmy was born in Johnston County on December 27, 1946 to the late Claude and Elgie Eatmon Greene. He was a retired law enforcement officer having served on the Garner and Smithfield Departments and as Chief of Police for Knightdale.
He is survived by his daughter, Niki Eckert and husband, Trent; his best friend, Betty Greene; his nephew and best buddie, Jeremy Greene; nieces, Kathleen Greene and husband, Larry Schmidt, Veronica Johnson and husband, Robin, Sophia Greene Shaw and husband, Quintin; as well as many great nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Coleen Greene and Claude and Verna Greene.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 10:00am at Hocutt Baptist Church in Clayton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 9:00 until 10:00am. The interment will follow the services at Amelia Church Cemetery, Clayton.
