Mrs. Jeannie T Benson

A graveside service for Jeannie will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 12830 US 70 Bus Hwy W, Clayton, NC 27520.

Mrs Benson was born September 13, 1946 in Wake County, daughter to the late Leon Noble Tomlinson and Delsie Mae Nicohols. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Rogers Benson and a brother Percy Leon Tomlinson. Mrs Benson graduated Troutman’s Beauty School and ran Jeannie’s Hairstyling in the late sixties. She discontinued working as a cosmetologist to become a full-time homemaker and mother.

Mrs. Benson was an avid genealogist and has traced her family history back multiple generations. She and her late husband raised dairy goats on their farm, Troubled Waters Dairy Goats, where they achieved the top 10 for milk and butter fat production for a French Alpine doe. Mrs. Benson is survived by her daughter, Sherry Truitt and husband Michael, three grandchildren; Michael Truitt, III, Nathaniel Truitt, and Monica Manzer and her husband Daniel, and one great grandchild, Sterling Manzer.
