Janet Marie Jones, 66, passed away on May 27, 2017. A native of Johnston County, Janet was born January 8, 1951 to the Neta Clifton Jones and the late Clinton Thomas Jones. She loved her church and was a long time member of a gospel quartet. She enjoyed fishing and spending time at the beach. She was a people person, especially when it came to children and the elderly. Janet is survived by her mother, Neta Clifton Jones; sister, Betty J. Lee and husband, Ayden; brother, Clinton Thomas “Tommy” Jones and wife, Betty; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 2pm in the McLauirn Funeral Home Chapel, 12830 US 70 Business HWY W, Clayton, NC 27520. The family will receive friends for one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
