Helen Gertrude Smith Grady

Helen Smith Grady, age 78, of Raleigh, NC passed away peacefully and quietly, Friday, November 7, 2014 surrounded by her family. A memorial will be held at 11am on Saturday, November 15, 2014 in the McLaurin Funeral Home Chapel, 12830 US Highway 70 Business West, Clayton, NC 27520. The family will receive friends following the service. Her sweet smile and embracing hugs will always be remembered. She is survived by her husband, Warren Allen Grady; daughter, Sharon Grady Kurtz and husband, David; sons, John Grady and James Grady; grandsons, Ryan Grady Kurtz and wife, Allison and Patrick Wayne Kurtz; a great granddaughter, Sophie Claire Kurtz; 3 sisters; 1 brother; 3 nieces and her sweet dog, Molly. She will be missed by many wonderful people whom she worked with for over 30 years at the Raleigh Orthopedic Clinic. Her favorite pastimes were being with her family and her dog Molly. She enjoyed working in her garden, sitting on her porch watching the hummingbirds at her numerous feeders, cooking...especially the Sunday family dinner. Helen was a gentle and sweet woman who always had time to be there for anyone that needed her. Never one to be judgmental...she always listened with an open heart.
