Geraldine Weaver Barbour

Geraldine was born in Johnston County to Herman and Sadie Weaver on December 3, 1936. She married Leon Barbour on October 29, 1952. She worked as a seamstress for the Jerold Corporation for 32 years before retiring.

Geraldine enjoyed spending her time reading and sewing. She was the loving caregiver of a home daycare for over 5 years. Her bright and charismatic personality made it easy for people to be drawn to her. Everyone loved to be around her. She will remain in the hearts of many people she came in contact with.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Leon Barbour; daughter, Susie Hein; father, Herman Weaver and mother, Sadie Watkins Weaver; brothers, Bud Weaver, Ed Weaver, Eugene Weaver and J.D. Weaver.

Geraldine is survived by son, Gary, and wife, Beth Barbour; daughter, Paula Jo Gatlyn; brother, Billy, and wife, Brenda Weaver; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family of Geraldine wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all of those who cared for mom over the last six months.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 6-8pm at McLaurin Funeral Home 12830 US-70 Bus. Hwy. W. Clayton, NC 27520

Graveside Funeral services will be held at Hills of the Neuse Cemetery 98 Packing Plant Road, Smithfield, NC 27577 on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 10am with the Pastor David Sutphin officiating.
