Gelene was born on November 3, 1930 in Allegany County, to the late Thomas Walter Greene and Rachie Lou Hankins Greene. In addition to her parents, Gelene is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Hughes, and siblings, Clarence Greene, Marie Cline, Walter Greene Jr., Irene Tilley, Odell Tompkins and Sherman Thompkins.
Left to cherish her memory are numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at McLaurin Funeral Home in Pinecrest Memorial Park at 2:00pm on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
