Gary was a kind. gentle  & caring man with a wonderful sense of humor. Another friend & I were talking just this weekend  about how much we missed him & reminisced about our good times dancing and going out to eat. The last time  I saw him he stopped by when I was keeping my young granddaughter to warm me about a bear siting nearby. Go rest high up on that mountain, Gary.  You were a well loved man on this earth. 

Oh my goodness, Gary. I want to first send love and prayers to Gary’s family and friends,  and the community that loves him so much. Please know, you will all continue to be in our prayers.

I was lucky enough to be his roommate for several years. Two-steppin’ at the Longbranch, lots of homemade fresh meat and veggies, a lot of  Clorox , and mudding. I loved riding in those big loud trucks. He always stood up for me, and he was a lot of fun to be around.  He was a very true friend. He painted and remodeled my home and a small place at the beach. I’m so happy to have those bits of Gary all around me. ❤️ Such a good, good, guy.  The service was beautiful, thank you.

Gary befriended me 5 years ago after a heartbreaking divorce. He made time to call and check on me week after week, month after month. As a result we became good friends. Gary was a good Christian and we had many talks about the Lord. There is no doubt Gary is in Heaven at this very moment! My condolences to his Mom, Sister,  my buddy's Zach and Cameron, and the rest of his family.

Wow! Can't add anything that hasn't already been expressed many times over. Always laughing, always giving, always helpful, didn't know a stranger, man of many talents. Everyone loved his great heart. He will be sorely missed. Prayers for the family, may God grant you peace and comfort thru your grief. Zach and Cam, become good men like your dad and make him proud. Dedicate your lives to following Christ, and you'll be with him  again soon. I know I can't wait to join him..... Gary, save me a seat buddy!

I didn't know Gary very well but when I had a chance to talk with him he was always pleasant & friendly with a lot of knowledge about a lot of things.

IThey don't come any better than Gary.  I am privileged to have Gary as a friend. I know everyone that knows him feels the same. He has helped me and so many people with his time and talents. Always steady ,always supportive . Gary always kept us laughing. I have never seen him say anything hurtful to anyone.

As a single man I am impressed.His priorities on this side of heaven were well placed. He has always put his boys and their interest far above anything else personally .He loves them ,his mother and family dearly.

I speak of Gary as in the present because I hope to see him again. Something happened yesterday and my first reaction was to call Gary just for a split second.His presence on this side of heaven will be missed by all who know him . 

Although Gary' presence is still needed beyond words ,especially for Zachary and Cameron, I would say this :That which Gary does  leave behind in memory and example is powerful and will grow to be comforting and supportive as time passes. I am convinced that some people may be taken because the legacy that they were to leave behind is complete.

I am just heartbroken to hear the news.  There are so many words to describe Gary.....  but if I had to only pick one, it would be HAPPY.  I've never seen him when he wasn't smiling, teasing, laughing, throwing out a one-liner, etc.   I'm sure he's 2-steppin' in heaven.

I am so heartbroken.  What a tragedy this is. 
Gary liked to laugh and tease and he made others laugh with him. I don't think he ever met a stranger. Gary was a good man, a good father and  a hard worker.  He was always helping others. I believe he could fix anything. Gary became part of our family and we loved him from the beginning. I am so thankful for all the memories we made over the years.  My prayers go out for Linda, Sylvia. & family, Randy & family, and my grandsons Zach and Cameron. Rest in peace, Gary, my son from another mother.

Although we didn’t know Gary personally, what we truly enjoyed was watching him two-step around the dance floor at My Place several years back!  We also remember seeing him with his handsome sons from time to time.  What a difficult loss.   


For over 20 years Gary has been someone I thought of as my brother.  I enjoyed his stories, his laughter, his kindness, and most of all his friendship.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.  I am so fortunate to have known Gary; I will miss him deeply.  

To Gary's family: I am deeply sorry for your loss. I had become a good friend of Gary's over the past 6 years. I've not known many men as kind, helpful, and all-around good-hearted as Gary. He was always willing to help anyone in need, and he had so much knowledge about many things. I believe he could fix most anything.  He always made you laugh and cheered you up just being around him. He will be missed badly by all of us in his friend circle, which was large.   Our loss is heaven's gain.  Praying for all of you.

Such a wonderful man. Gary came into my life as my brother in law and though he had no obligation, he did not hesitate to help me or my family. I have such fond memories of hanging out, laughing and getting into mischief. I was always happy to see him and I talk about him all the time. This hurts my heart deeply, but I am thankful for him being such a big part of my life. 

I just saw Gary a couple of weeks ago, and we talked briefly.  Had I known then that it would be the last time, I would have spent so much longer talking and laughing with him.  I have known Gary for about 4 years.  We've  spent a great deal of time together talking, laughing, and dancing.  I never saw Gary without a smile on his face,  and doing his best to make everyone around him smile.  Carol and I spent a weekend with him at SOS a few years back, and had so much fun.   We were all just good friends, but when asked, " Which girl are you dating Gary" ?  He would simply say "both of them".   and then the laughter....   

I will certainly miss you, my friend. I'll miss your silly  jokes, your laughter,  your dances, and your friendship.   Until we meet again!  

I’m so sorry to hear this. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.  We all grew up together Randy and Gary hung out with my brother Ricky. They were great boys and grew to be fine men. RIP Gary.

A fine man gone too soon and who is going to be sorely missed by many. I always enjoyed talking with and dancing with him. I loved hearing his stories about his boys and his devotion to them as well as his great jokes. I never saw him without a smile in his face and a kind or joking comment. The last time I saw Gary he stopped after seeing my granddaughter run out of the woods with me not far behind after walking the trails. He wanted to tell us to be careful because a bear had been seen those woods a few days before. He was concerned for our safety. We stayed for a while so we could talk a bit and he told me he hadn’t been going out dancing much because he had been spending time with his sons and they were his main focus in life. He certainly did love them. 
I will miss him. 😢❤️

I have known Gary for many years. His sister Sylvia and late  brother in law Marty were  our neighbors.  He used to bring Cameron and Zach to swim in our pool each summer.  He loved his family more than anything.  Especially Cameron and Zach. After Marty passed he always made sure Sylvia was taken care of
 We were blessed to know Gary . Prayers for the family.

Gary was a dear friend and the nicest man. We enjoyed many fun times together dancing and visiting and he was always someone you could count on to be a good guy. I was shocked to hear of his passing, but grateful that it was peaceful. Gary, thank you for being a kind and  gentle man.  To his sons - your father loved you more than words can say. He always spoke of you, cared about you and wanted only the very, very best for you. If he had any wish in life, it would be for the two of you to be happy, healthy, find work you enjoy and have a great life. He was truly devoted to you! 


We only knew Gary for a short time through the "shag" community and not very well, but he was such a kind person!  Always had a smile on his face and truly enjoyed dancing as much as anyone we have ever seen!  He will be greatly missed.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family during this difficult time.
