Frances was preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Callahan (b. May 17, 1935, d. June 15, 2008).
She is survived by her children Tracy Reid Callahan (b. August 8, 1965), John Edward Callahan (b. April 18, 1969), David Lee Callahan (b. July 27, 1969), and Neil Andrew Callahan (b. December 16, 1971). Frances is also survived by her grandchildren Lauren Callahan, Ella Callahan, Dylan Callahan, and Ethan Callahan.
Frances was born in Stirling, Scotland, UK, on August 8, 1932, to John Campbell Macnab and Agnes Brown Macnab. She was the youngest child of seven siblings, all of whom preceded her in death: Sheila Mary Macnab, Lorna Campbell Macnab, Inez Edgar Macnab, Ian Peter Fletcher Macnab, Alastair Walter Edgar Macnab, and Elizabeth (“Betty”) Jessie Macnab.
On September 21, 1953, Frances landed in New York City, having emigrated from the UK, where she put her culinary training to good use and ultimately met the man she would marry. After the wedding and birth of their first child, the couple relocated to the Midwest to raise what became a growing family. Later, as “empty nesters,” Frances and George relocated to North Carolina to enjoy the year-round warm weather.
Frances enjoyed meeting new people, most of whom would quickly become her new friends. She enjoyed socializing and traveling to a faraway place and/or a new shop across town. Frances loved the arts, particularly historical dramas, and was often either reading or enjoying a classic weepy on TV. She was funny and smart and kind. Frances was very loved by her family and friends who will miss her very much.
