We are so sad to hear the passing of Eric. He was a very good man and a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. He was bold in sharing his faith and proved that in his actions.

I just heard about Eric’s passing. I only knew Eric for a couple of years but he quickly gained my trust and respect. I always looked forward to our conversations while he was trimming my donkeys’ feet. It was obvious that he was was a kind man to both people and animals. My deepest condolences to Eric’s family and close friends as you grieve this loss.

We just heard this news. Eric was a kind and caring person.  His expertise as a farrier saved our mini Uh-Oh and was so patient and kind to the less than cooperative Whinny. We will miss you and our talks under the oak tree. Deepest condolences to the Thompson family.

Eric was our farrier for the past 12 years.  Here, he was a man of few words but he was always kind and reliable.  If he said he’d be here at 7, he’d usually drive in before 6!  And if he said he’d see you next Friday, he might show up this Friday!  We only have one mini for him to look after but he always made her a priority.  

He always seemed like he was happy.  Focused, hardworking, and content.  He will be missed.   💔

Our family has known Eric for too many years to count .  He was someone you could always count on to be there when he was needed or scheduled.   We valued him as a friend as well as a Farrier.   Gidget, Baby Girl, Cody, Mandy and Chilly will miss your gentle touch.   Our prayers are with his Father and the rest of the family.    Rest in Peace our friend.   🙏🏻🙏🏻.



We have so many memories together from barrel racing, working on the farm, proms, sports, holidays, and so much more. There is one thing for sure, you had the biggest heart! You always wore your heart on your sleeve and wanted to help others. Thank you for all the memories! You will be missed, PapaE. We will see you again one day!

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family.  Many fond memories of Eric, he was such a good guy! 

Eric took care of our donkey's feet. He actually saved Jack from foundering as Ole Jack's feet were in bad shape when we got him. We looked forwarded to Eric's visits & the conversations. He was a friend / he was family.  He will be dearly missed. 

He has been doing  our horses for almost 30 years.

In this picture Papa E was helping me with my senior high school project. I was learning how to properly trim and shoe a horses hoof. Boy was that tough work. I always enjoyed working with him throughout the summer in high school. He was a caring person with a big heart! Papa E, you will be missed. 

To the family of Eric, please accept our deepest sympathy.  Eric shod our horses for over twenty years.  He was always a professional.  He will be missed by all that had the opportunity to know him. We will certainly miss him as a dear friend. 

Another soul gone but never forgotten.Horses have always been his life so ride into the sunset my friend.

Every 6-8 weeks for over 20 years you took care of our horses under this big pecan tree. Eric shared many stories and laughs with us here. Eric was loved and will be missed by so many. 

Thank you for always loving me and treating me as one of your own, even when there were some changes in life. I know you'll have plenty of horses to take care of in the life after this one.

Eric and I are first cousins. I missed an annual Thompson Reunion, held on Sunday.  The next day, Monday, he dropped by house to make sure I was well.

He was a caring man.  

Eric put my son on his first horse , I’m gonna miss you so very much , love and prayers to family

I am so sad to hear this news - Eric was my blacksmith and friend for a long, long  time, and worked on one of my horses that others had just written off.  A kind, gentle man.  Funny.  Considerate.  The best listener...... I just can't believe it - prayers for his family.....

I have fond childhood memories of Eric. He, Sammy, and I played many hours on the farm. I miss them both. My prayers are with Harold, Kathy, and Kim.

Met Eric over 15 years ago. He was my daughter and my hero. He came to our rescue to help with our pony and horse. He was our farrier and dear friend ever since. He was loved by many and will always hold a place on our hearts.  Prayers to his family in this time of need.

Eric was a friend and my farrier since he got back from school in Oklahoma and really cared about his job and the horses, he helped me with several that most would have given up on and got them both back sound and I will forever be grateful, I will miss him and our talks  we had over the years.
