Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Smithfield with Pastor Steve McElroy and Pastor Meagan Matthews officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Clayton, North Carolina.

Denise was born March 11, 1953 in Washington, DC to the late Donald Henry DeLaporte and the late Shirley Patricia Matthews.

She enjoyed music, dancing and visiting with friends.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Debbie DeLaPorte; nieces and nephews, Darlene (Berry) Skinner, Missy (Patrick) Hodges; great nephew, Brooks Skinner; special dog, Allie; and all her special friends at Smithfield Manor.
