It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Greg Dennis, who left us at the age of 63 on March 17, 2025. Greg was a cherished father, grandfather, and friend whose kindness and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him.
Born on January 25, 1962, in Lumberton, Greg was a proud graduate of Clarkton High School, class of 1980. He was known for his gentle nature and his ability to tell the most captivating stories, always leaving a smile on the faces of those around him. Greg was passionate about many things, but his love for the North Carolina mountains stood out. He spent many years living in the mountains before returning to his roots in the Clarkton community. His deep appreciation for the beauty of nature was only matched by his desire to help others make their house a home, sharing his talents and heart with those in need.
Greg had a special fondness for Christmas and was often the one to help friends and family decorate, spreading joy during the holiday season. His infectious laughter and warm smile will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Greg is survived by his children, Brandon Dennis and Amanda Blakely (Tim); his five grandchildren, Kamryn, Robert, Lily, Weston, and Logan; as well as his lifelong friend and the mother of his children, Linney Meares. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Eunice Dennis, and his brother, Steve Dennis.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Clarkton First Baptist Church. We invite all who knew and loved Greg to join us as we honor his memory and the impact he made on our lives.
Greg’s memory will live on in our hearts forever, and his legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will never be forgotten.
