Charles Richard Smallwood, 59, of Benson passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015. He was born March 19, 1955 in Vineland, NJ to the late Raymond and Maryann Bakely Smallwood. Charles was a member of Hocutt Baptist Church. When he was able, he loved to ride his motorcycle and play golf, but his favorite activity was spending time with his family. His grandsons were his world. Charles is survived by his wife, Barbara Smallwood; daughter Kimberly Cruz and husband, Jose; grandsons, Brandon and Ethan Cruz Smallwood; brother, Fred Richmond, of NJ; sister, Vanessa Richmond, of SC; and an aunt and uncle, Daryl and Joann Bakely, of FL. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 3pm at Hocutt Baptist Church, 314 W. Horne St., Clayton, NC 27520. The family will receive friends from 1-3pm at the church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hocutt Baptist Church.
