Charles Eugene Martin Sr.

Charles proudly served in the United States Army from 1956-1959. He married his wife Barbara in 1962.

He always enjoyed working on cars and would fix them in his backyard.

He worked at Winn Dixie as a large truck mechanic and the GSA motorpool. He took over his father's business, Martin's Auto Salvage,

in 1977 where he remained until he retired.

Charles, fondly known as "Pa" to his grandchildren, is survived by his wife Barbara Pilkington Martin and his

children; Charles Jr. (Stephanie), Elizabeth (Ronnie) Wilson, grandchildren; Gianna Catania, Miranda Catania, Buddy Catania and Jordan Martin.

He is also survived by his sister Celia Martin Grabey. He was preceeded in death by his father James "Abe" Dowd Martin, mother Dorothy Nipper Martin

and siblings; James "Peter" Martin Jr., Hubert "Jack" Martin and Eunice "Lynn" Martin.

A memorial service will be held Monday February 5th, at 2:00p.m. at McLaurin Funeral Home 12830 US-70 Business, Clayton, NC 27520. Chaplain Larry Otto officiating.

A golden heart stopped beating

Hard working hands at rest

It broke our hearts to see you go

Now with God you'll rest.

Our lips cannot speak how we loved you

Our hearts cannot tell what to say

In our home that is lonely today.
