C.W. Marshburn, 83, of Smithfield, NC, passed away on October 19, 2017 in Smithfield. C.W. was born in Onslow County, NC to Walter Marshburn and Etta Jones on October 23, 1933. He went to school at Richlands High. He married Mavis Marshburn on April 27, 1973 at United Methodist Church in Richlands, NC. C.W. worked as a painter for over 40 years and was self-employed for most of his life. He was part of the Richlands Hunting Club. C.W. loved hunting, fishing, and he enjoyed the outdoors. He enjoyed his hunting dogs, farming and fixing wood figures. One of his favorite past times was going to the beach with his truck and camper. C.W. is survived by loving wife, Mavis Marshburn; daughters, Carol Ennis (Selma), Donna Marshburn (Selma), Linda Marshburn (Four Oaks), Helen Leach and husband, David (Jeffersonville, KY), Sue Edwards and husband, Delaney (Smithfield); sons, Carl Wayne Marshburn (Kinston, NC), Kenny Marshburn and wife, Evelyn (Lexington, NC), Allen Heath and wife, Deddie (Princeton, NC), Ricky Heath and wife, Patty (Princeton, NC). He also leaves by a large extended family of 21 grandchildren, 54 Great-Grandchildren and 10 Great-Great-Grandchildren. C.W. also leaves behind his beloved four-legged son, Boss Marshburn. He is preceded in death his parents, Walter and Etta; sisters, Mavis Sawyer and Joyce Ramsey; brother, James Marshburn; grandson, William Heath; and Great-Grandson, Samuel Grissom. Pallbearers will be Danny Whaley, Roby Whaley, Carson Marshburn, Cody Marshburn, Allen Heath, Delaney Edwards, Kameron Edwards, Kristopher Rodriguez, and Landon Ennis The family of C.W Marshburn wishes to extend our sincere thanks to SECU Hospice House and Pam Tripp. Visitation will be Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 6-8pm at McLaurin Funeral Home 12830 US-70 Bus. Hwy. W., Clayton, NC 27520. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Monday, October 23, 2017 at McLaurin Funeral Home with Pastor Blake of Daystar Tabernacle in Dunn, North Carolina officiating.
