Brandon Blake Runyon "B" passed away too soon at the early age of twenty-eight on the evening of June 23rd in a tragic car accident. Born at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, NC and raised in Clayton, NC. Brandon graduated from Clayton High School in 2012 and was raised up playing Civitan baseball.
He is survived by his parents, Mike and Kandi Runyon; brother, Dr. Justin Runyon and his wife, Kasey; grandfather, James Mullins and wife, Becky; aunts and uncles, Rev. Bill Runyon, Jr. and wife, Rena, Lisa-Marie Runyon, Gary Runyon and wife, Joyce, Lisa Runyon Dickerson and husband, Mike, Angie Runyon Collins and husband, Josh, Kam Mullins Curry, Dexter Curry and wife, Melinda, Connie Mullins and husband Kem, Sarah Mullins Akers and husband, Dr. Joshua Akers. Along with host of cousins who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Anna "Mamaw" Marsh; step grandfather, Richard Dale Marsh; grandmother, Diana "Meme” Mullins; uncle, Kenneth Runyon; grandfather, Bill "Papaw" Runyon, Sr. and cousin, Brandi Jo Long.
Brandon loved to spend his free time fishing, working on cars and most recently learning to be a diesel engine mechanic. He took passion in handy work, craftsmanship, and helping those around him. You could always find him with a smile on his face, pocket- knife in his pocket, and a fishing pole in his truck. His occupations included Ergo Concepts, Ruppert Landscaping, Carolina Sports Courts, Jiffy Lube, and most recently Wall Recycling. Regardless of the place, Brandon worked with all his might and strength all while bringing joy to his coworkers with his heart of gold. Every co-worker said he brought a smile to their face and was a hard worker. He will be sorely missed by all!!!!! Hearts and minds are at peace knowing Brandon gave his life to the Lord in this very Church with his church family. After several years of great heartbreak, he is reunited with his best friend Dakoda Johnson, where they can fish, hunt and play baseball with Jesus.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 11:00am at Princeton Church of God with Pastor Matthew Cornett officiating. Entombment will follow at the Pinecrest Memorial Park Mausoleum in Clayton. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 prior to the service at the church.
