Betty Lou Tucker, 87, a native of Miami, Florida, went home to be with her Lord on January 23, 2019, in Clayton, NC. Born on May 19, 1931. She had been living in North Carolina, for the past 12 years to be close to her children.
Betty Lou graduated from Miami Jackson High School where she was Valedictorian. Married to Eugene Alexander Tucker. Her parents, William James Geiger, Sr., and Lillian Ellen Kirby Geiger were early residents to South Florida and remarkably her father was one of the crane operators who constructed the famous 7 mile bridge going to Key West.
Betty Lou was a dedicated mother and aspired to be a Godly woman in all her endeavors. She was one of the founding members of Wayside Baptist Church in Miami where she was involved in Southern Baptist Women's Missionary Union (WMU). She enjoyed teaching and being involved in Sunday School. She always had an open door with a warm bed and meal to Southern Baptist missionaries travelling through Miami on their furloughs.
She was an accomplished business woman working in various industries from Insurance, retail sales, tropical fish, heavy machinery to transportation. She finished her "out-of-the-home" career at Ryder Truck Rental in the Miami District Office as Accounts Receivable Associate, retiring after 15+ years. Betty Lou also enjoyed being a Shaklee Vitamin Distributor for her family and friends. In her early retirement years she was caregiver to two of her dear friends and "Nanny" to a school aged child whom she loved and adored, named Katie. Above all, she enjoyed being Nana and doting on all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Betty Lou is preceded in death by her Father, her Mother, and her husband, Eugene Tucker.
She is survived by her brother, William James Geiger, Jr.,(Shirley) son, Leon Tucker (Renee), son, Kenneth Tucker, son, Joel Tucker (Meredith), daughter Lori Buchanan (Barry), ten grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.

Miami, Florida - Celebration of Life Memorial services will be held at 12:30 PM, Saturday, Mar 2, 2019 at Wayside Baptist Church Chapel located at 7701 SW 98th Street, Miami, Florida 33156, followed by graveside burial at Flagler Memorial Park.
