Betty graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Houston. She also took courses at Brooklyn College and the University of Arizona. Betty also studied in Mexico for six months.
Betty owned and operated her own beauty shop in Kingsport, Tennessee for twelve years. She once was an instructor for Arthur Murray Dance. Her hobbies included sewing and making jewelry for herself and friends.
Betty is survived by her husband, Caney Boswell of Clayton; brothers, William Moore, Jerry Moore, and wife, Katie of Meadowview, Virginia; sisters, Mary Alice Moore of Baltimore, Maryland, Sylvia, and husband, Tom Sordillo of Baltimore, Maryland, Linda, and husband, Larry Makowski of Gloucester, Virginia. Special cousin Peggy, and husband, Gene, of Arlington, Virginia.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 10-11 am followed by a service at
11:00 am. Interment will take place at Maplewood Cemetery in Wilson, NC on Friday at 1:30pm.
The family kindly requests no flowers. Donations can be made in Betty's honor to an Alzheimer's Association of your choice.
