Robert Hoagland died in Roseville May 20, 2016. Mr. Hoagland was born in McCook, Nebraska and was 78 years of age. Loved father of Jim Hoagland (Claire) of Redwood City, Tom Hoagland of Orangevale, and Craig Hoagland of Carmichael. Cherished grandfather of Michael and Joey. Also survived by his brothers-in-law Bill Koch of Carmichael, Ken Lichtenstein of Santa Clara, and Don Spence of Watsonville and numerous friends. He was married for 43 years to the late Sue Hoagland and was a longtime resident of Orangevale. For decades he was an electrical-mechanical component repairman at McClellan AFB, where he was recognized for his inventiveness, and also worked as a handyman. He was active in clowning as "Hobo Bob", founding Sacramento's Klown Alley (aka KAOS), participating in many community events, and instructing hundred of students in "clownology". He was also active in scouting as Assistant Scoutmaster and Outdoorsman for Troop 212 and raised birds. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 1:30PM at Calvary Cemetery, 7101 Verner Ave., Sacramento.
