Douglas E. Johnson

Douglas E Johnson was born, March 5, 1959 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina to Catherine Louise & William Preston Johnson, Sr. He was raised in Southampton, New York with his brothers, Will Jr & Stevie. He became a father for the first time in 1976, when his daughter, Akira, was born. He left New York in 1978 to join the Air Force.

Doug spent 5 years in the Air Force as an Airplane Fuel Specialist. During his service he was stationed in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Bitburg Germany and Plattsburg NY.

While in Germany, Doug met his then future wife, Phyllis and they had a son, Philip. Doug relocated to Sacramento California in July of 1984 to be with Phyllis & Philip and they were married in May of 1990. He worked for Federated in Customer Service for several years. He took a temporary job at the Sacramento Airport as a Firefighter/Airplane Refueler in 1989 from which he retired after 18 years.

Doug leaves behind his beloved mother, Catherine, his devoted wife, Phyllis, his children, Akira & Philip, his grandchildren, Philip Jr, Michael, & Maysa and his brothers, Walter, Will Jr. & Stevie. As well as a plethora of friends and relatives.

He will be greatly missed and remembered always.
