William Lowell was born October 2, 1931 in Cisne, IL to Fred and Bertha (Miller) Sparr. He never married.
William Lowell was a retired farmer and formerly served thirty-six years as Elm River Township Road Commissioner.
He was a veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of the Cisne American Legion, Enterprise United Methodist Church, Cisne; and Flora VFW.
William Lowell is survived by one brother-in-law Harold (Mary) Holmes of Fairfield, IL; two step-sisters Shirley (Fred) Shelton of Clay City, IL and Peggy (David) Loehr of Newburgh, IN; two step-brothers Larry (Jenny) Laird of Chebanse, IL and Jerry (Cecilia) Copperhill of TN. Six nieces and nephews – George (Ruth Ann) Holmes of West Salem, IL; David Holmes of Fairfield, IL; John (Sharon) Bolen of North Carolina, and Debbie Bolen, Robin Bolen, and Billie Jo Bolen all of Minnesota; several great and great-great nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by two sisters Rosalee Bolen and Anna Mae Holmes, his parents and step-mother Ellen Sparr.
Funeral services for William Lowell Sparr will be 1PM Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 at Hosselton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evangelical Cemetery near Cisne, IL. Friends may call from noon until time of service on Friday. There will be military services at the cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Cisne American Legion and will be accepted at Hosselton Funeral Home.
