Robert Eugene 'Gene' Gill

He was born on Mar. 24, 1935 at Clay City, IL to George A. & Mearl (Mix) Gill. He married Loretta McCracken on Nov. 15, 1963 in Cisne, IL.

He was a retired bricklayer, heavy equipment operator, and farmer and he had served on the Mt. Erie Grade School Board for 4 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, a member of the Eagles Lodge at Olney and also the Elks Lodge at Olney, IL

Surviving Gene is his wife Loretta of Mt. Erie, four sons Michael Gill (Jeana), Martin Gill (Cynthia), Nathan Gill (Leslie), and Jason Gill (Karen) all of Mt. Erie, IL, eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild and one on the way. Also surviving are two brothers Russell Gill (Arlie) of West Salem, IL and Melvin Gill (Nancy) of Coraopolis, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be made to the Tristan Atteberry Scholarship Fund or to the donor’s choice, and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM, Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015 at the McKendree Cemetery at Mt. Erie and everyone is asked to go directly to the cemetery. There will be no visitation.
