Gordon Henry Smith

He was born on March 12, 1927 in Stanley, Wisconsin to Henry and Jennie (Christianson) Smith. He married Ruby Spitzner on November 19, 1949 in Henderson, KY. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons Dan (Jane) Smith of Herrin and Doug (Candy) Smith of Altamont, seven grandchildren Brian Smith, Amy Ferguson, Lisa (James) Hale, Danielle (Jacob) Emling, Jonathan Smith, Jennifer Smith, and Jeanne Stockton, sixteen great-grandchildren, one sister Nina Denning of Flora, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by eleven siblings.

Gordon was a driver for American Welding and Midstate Trucking. He was a proud World War II Army veteran and a member of the Kings Chapel Church in Fairfield.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2017 at Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne, where visitation will start at 11:00 a.m until time of service. Burial will be at Cisne Cemetery.
