Doug was born May 6, 1956 at Dallas, TX to Robert and Lenore (Crego) Holtzinger. He married Donna Jean Curtis August 4, 1990 at Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Doug was a truck driver for over twenty years; last working for Casey’s General Store and was a die-hard Cardinal’s fan.
Doug is survived by his wife Donna Holtzinger of Flora, Illinois; children Jennifer (Michael) Skorzak of Kalamazoo, Michigan; Jill (Leonard) Watts of Normal, Illinois, Curtis Holtzinger of Flora, Illinois and Courtney Holtzinger of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Also surviving are four grandchildren Emma and Elijah Skorzak, Tristen Doyle and Blakely Holtzinger.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one infant sister.
A Celebration of Life service will be 11:00am Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the First Church of God in Flora, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to the family to assist with medical expenses.
