Anthony 'Tony' L Medder

ANTHONY ‘TONY’ MEDDER, 56, of Cisne, Illinois passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana. He passed away after a courageous 5 and a half year battle of stage IV prostate cancer.

Tony was born in Fairfield on November 22, 1960, to Wilson LaVern “Short” and Sue (Taylor) Medder. Tony married Jonna on April 1, 1993, in Dixon, Kentucky. He was a member of the Cisne Christian Church, where he served as a deacon. He had previously been employed at North American Lighting for 16 years.

Among his survivors is his wife Jonna (Henson) Medder of Cisne; mother, Sue Musgrave of Wayne City; step-mother, Robyn Medder of Washington; daughter, Rachel Parsley of Fairfield; sons, Ryan (Alyssa) Medder of Abilene, TX, Cody (Jennifer) Burroughs of Geff, and Todd (Caitlin) Burroughs of Kell, IL; grandchildren, Carleigh Burroughs of San Diego, CA, Lexa Parsley of Fairfield, IL, Mattox Burroughs of Geff, and Kaydi Burroughs of Geff; brothers, David (Sherry) Medder of Miami, FL, CA Musgrave of Wayne City, and Jeremiah (Ann) Medder of San Diego, CA; sisters, Linda (John) Legg of Fairfield, Lindsey (Bob) Bullard of Wayne City, Zuri Medder of Wayne City, Jennifer (Kevin) Musgrave of Fairfield, and Heather (Kelly) Smith of Bluford; and maternal-grandmother, Jueneta Taylor of Fairfield.

Preceding Tony in death is his father, Wilson LaVern “Short” Medder; sister, Leanna Hufford; and step-father, Clifford Musgrave.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Cisne Christian Church. Visitation will be 9:00am-11:00am prior to the service Saturday at the church. Burial will be held at Cisne Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cisne Christian Church.
