Mary Ellen Tully

Mary Ellen Tully (nee Goeller), 83 of Circleville, Ohio peacefully passed away on November 18, 2023, in the presence of her loving family and caregivers. Born to Dr. Joseph E. and Mabel (nee Heise) Goeller. She was a part of the Circleville community her entire life, graduating from Pickaway Township School in 1958, raising her family, and working for the Circleville City School District. In the early 1960’s she worked as an electrocardiogram technician at Mt. Carmel West Hospital. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and being a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She loved to read, play the piano, and visit with friends and family. She was an ambassador of good manners and quick wit, but she filled her soul by teaching and helping others.

Wife of Dennis P. Tully. Sister of Judy Goode and Joe Goeller. Mother of Kathleen Tully, Barbara (Frank Dunne) Tully, Patrick (Jean) Tully and Janet (Michael) Wuertzer. Grandmother of Joseph (Ashley Fetterolf) Horner, William Horner, Lucy Horner, John Horner, Samuel Horner, Anne Horner, Emma Tully, Brian Tully, Sage Wuertzer, David Wuertzer and Thomas Wuertzer. Great-grandmother of Charlie Horner.

Pre-deceased by her parents, husband, two infant sons, son-in-law Bruce Horner; brother-in-law, Jack Goode; sister-in-law Linda Goeller; niece, Jackie Goode.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 30 from 5pm until 7pm at Defenbaugh Wise Schoedinger Funeral Home, 151 E. Main St, Circleville, where a Rosary service will follow. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 134 W. Mound St, Circleville at 10am on December 1, Fr. Ted Machnik the celebrant. Inurnment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Circleville.
