John Michael “Barney” Barnhart, 80, of Circleville passed away on June 23, 2024. John was born on December 12, 1943, to the late Emmett and Miriam (Barnes) Barnhart in Columbus. John graduated from Circleville High School. During College he was drafted and served in Vietnam. John enjoyed his trip in June to D.C. on the Honor Flight. You would find John at events teaching people about archeology, or with the Masons, assisting at church, or helping friends.
Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by infant brother: William Wesley Barnhart.
Barney is survived by his daughter, Wendy (Timothy) Fraley, his sister Betsy (Chuck) Yors, grandchildren, Anthony (Hayley) Fraley, Daniel (McKenzie) Fraley and great grandchildren, Kylo and Mckenna, niece, nephew as well as many other family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 1, 2024, at Defenbaugh Wise Schoedinger, 151 E. Main St, Circleville, Ohio 43113 from 4pm until 7pm with a Masonic Funeral being held at 7pm. The funeral service will be held the following day at 11am with visitation the hour prior. Interment to occur at Reber Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
