Burla dedicated many years of her life as the head cook at Nicholas Elementary School, where her culinary skills and warm demeanor touched the lives of countless children. She retired from this position after years of service, leaving behind a legacy of delicious meals and caring gestures.
She was an active member of the Circleville Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed her time as part of the Red Hat Society. Burla had a beautiful outlook for life that was evident in her love for travel, playing Euchre, and cherishing moments with her family and friends.
Burla was married to Raymond Arnold Barr for 65 years, and together they raised two children, Gloria and Jim. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, brothers Pearl Stant, Mryl Stant, Earl Stant, her son James R. Barr, and daughter-in-law Janet Barr.
Her passing is mourned by her loving family, including her brother Shirley Stant, daughter Gloria Briceland, grandchildren Cathy Arthun (Erick Arthun), Eric Miller (Donna Miller), Chad Miller (Cari Newby), James Barr (Jamie Barr), and their families, which span several generations. Burla's legacy lives on through her great-grandchildren, including Erica Kear (Logan Kear), Timmy Bevins (Haley Leeann), Marrisa Temple (Cole Schut), Madison Miller (James Patton), Trevor Miller (Lyv Proe), Skylar Barr, Darren Barr, Teagan Arthun, and great-great-grandchildren Oliver Kear, Elliot Patton, and Lucas Bevins, and a large extended family.
Burla Louise Barr will be remembered for her kindness, her culinary talents, and the love she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her family and friends will forever cherish her memory and the impact she had on their lives.
A visitation followed by a funeral service to celebrate Burla's life will be held at Defenbaugh Wise Schoedinger Funeral Home on Tuesday June 25 from 11:00am to 1:30pm with the Funeral service to follow.
