Rolando Reyes Reyes, affectionately known as "Boy," passed away on June 26, 2024, surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer. He was born on December 6, 1952, in Sagrada Familia Hagonoy, Bulacan to Pablo and Felicisima Reyes.
Rolando graduated from high school in 1971 and pursued engineering at FEATI University, earning his degree in 1976. Upon graduation, he became the first licensed engineer from his hometown. Known for his kindness, friendliness, and outgoing nature, Rolando became a pillar of the community, renowned for his generosity and support of the less fortunate. His career at the National Power Corporation was marked by dedication and excellence, advancing from a junior engineer to Powerplant Superintendent before his retirement.
Rolando's hobbies were as rich and intriguing as his professional life. He was a skilled tennis player, competitive swimmer, talented bowler, and president of the local gun club. However, his passion for these activities was surpassed only by his love and dedication to his family.
In 1980, Rolando married his beloved wife, Evelyn Reyes, and together they raised four children. He is survived by his wife Evelyn; his children, Lilibeth, Rex, Roland, and Lorelie; his eight grandchildren, Sara, Roxy, Axel, Zildjian, Alexis, Renee, Stefan, and Sophia; and his three siblings, Regino, Leoncia, and Marita.
A service to celebrate Rolando’s life will be held on July 6, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Funeraria del Angel, located at 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA 91910. A reception will follow immediately after to honor his memory.
Rolando will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His memory will be forever cherished by those who knew him.
