Mary and Bob are gone now, no more pain and suffering. Both joined the war effort during World War II. Mary became a pharmacist's mate in the W.A.V.E. program. Robert (Bob) joined the Air Force and flew 125 missions in a P38 Lightning off of tiny Middleburg Island in the Pacific Theater.
They met through Mary's twin brother, Walt, a fellow Lightning pilot. Bob and Mary were married 68 years and were the proud parents of 3 children, followed by 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. They were happiest when the family got together for Mary's famous bean soup and yummy potato salad, followed by outdoor games and indoor card games. They will be missed beyond words.
