He was an only child and his mother went to work at Rohr in Chula Vista while Michael attended his early years of schooling.
At age 13 he moved to his current address on Barrett Avenue with his mother and step-father. Right out of high school he enlisted in the Navy and did 2 tours in Vietnam as a Radioman for an Admiral on an aircraft carrier.
Upon his return to San Diego, he attended Jr. College and studied interior design and hotel management. After that he attended Cosmetology School and was President of his class.
He worked for about 38 years in cosmetology and many of those were in the same salon with his co-workers that also have known him for many years.
He had a partial-retirement during the last couple of years and continued to work 3 days per week. He had cut back his time to take care of his mother in her last year with the assistance of Miguel.
After that he started to remodel his home and his latest project, yet unfinished, was converting his bathroom and taking out the tub for a Rain head Shower. Unfortunately, he passed on Wednesday, June 28th at 1:06 am at UCSD Medical Center after suffering a massive brain aneurysm.
He will be remembered by many who love him, and will be able to view his finished bathroom in the near future in spirit. His daughters Chanel (mixed miniature poodle) and Mercedes (Malti-poo) already miss him terribly.
