Melissa Acosta passed away on July 11th, 2019 at the age of 40 in her home in Chula Vista. She was born and raised in San Diego. She left behind her husband Frank and her four children: Christian (10), Gabriella (8), Angelina (7) and Dominic (5). Her mom and dad: Rosa and Dave and her brothers with their wives: David and Jamie, Daniel and Felicia and Ismael. Her in-laws: Frank Jr and Viola, sister in-law: Veronica and brother in-law: Damian.
Melissa worked at The Academy of our Lady of Peace for 14 yrs. She started as a receptionist and moved her way up to the admissions dept. She took on many roles at the school and loved what she did. She was loved by many. She went to SDSU and graduated in 2003 with a bachelors degree in social work and loved helping others.
She loved her family and friends and loved coordinating events to spend time together like rooting for the Chargers on Football Sundays and planning family get togethers. She LOVED being a Mommy. She enjoyed knitting with Gabby and reading bedtime stories with Angie. Christian and her loved watching the animal documentaries and she loved teaching Dominic how to learn how to write his letters. Melissa loved makeup and always dressed very stylish. She liked keeping up with the all the Real Housewives and Keeping up with the Kardashians. Watching I Love Lucy and The Golden Girls and watching movies with the hubby when all the kids were in bed. She loved to dance and socialize with friends. She was always so optimistic.
Melissa lost her 2 1/2yr battle with esophageal cancer but she never gave up the fight.
Melissa was one of a kind and will be missed dearly. She touched the hearts of many people. She will live forever live on in our memories. Per God's plan, she is on the way to heaven.
A viewing & evening service for Melissa will be held Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Chula Vista, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA 91910. A mass of the resurrection will occur Friday, July 19, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. John of the Cross, 8086 Broadway Ave., Lemon Grove, CA 91945. A final resting place will occur at Holy Cross Cemetery, 4470 Hilltop Dr., San Diego, CA 92102.
