Remembering Mary Reedy, a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Mary lived a long and wonderful life, from her beginnings in Earlville, Illinois and first marriage to Harold Harbison in 1939 which produced her beloved daughter Marsha Harbison, to her long and happy marriage to James Reedy in 1959 along with his two sons, Michael and Larry Reedy. Over the years Mary moved from Earlville to Aurora and then to the heart of the city in Chicago. After Jim’s retirement they settled in San Diego where they could enjoy the warm sun and relaxed California environment.
Mary was a fabulous cook and was always trying new gourmet meals. Mary loved to read, play crossword puzzles and was an avid cribbage player who routinely won against her opponents. Mary was a woman of fashion, elegance, and class. She dressed to the nines, her hair was always perfect, her jewelry beautiful. She appreciated the finer things in life, but was as humble and gracious as they come. Mary loved her family and spending time with friends. To know Mary was to love her and that was evident in the many lifelong friends that she made along the way.
Today we honor Mary for the woman she was in life and the memories we will keep with us forever. Mary will be missed dearly and her love will always be remembered.
