Lupe C Lopez, 95, of National City, CA, passed away July 7, 2022. He was born in National City, CA on December 12, 1926. He was married to Eleanor Lopez on December 8, 1951. He is predeceased by his brothers Manual, Pete, Angel, Robert and Moe; sisters Lupe, Flora, Lala and Jennie.
He is survived by his wife Eleanor, daughter Debra and son Leonard, grandchildren Joe, Oriana, Tony and Alex Loza, Raina and Caleb Lopez, and great-grandchildren Esai, Neomi, Liam, Sophie, Luke and Dylan Loza.
He served in the Army from February 10th, 1945 to November 29, 1946. He was assigned to the 33rd Infantry Division in Kobe, Japan and to the I Corps in Kyoto, Japan and worked as a cook.
Lupe worked as a tuna fisherman, meat packer and mover. His favorite job was being at sea and fishing for tuna. He loved talking to people and sharing photos about his time at sea traveling the Pacific Ocean.
Lupe took pride in his family and loved bragging about his grandchildren.
A celebration of life for Lupe will be held Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Sweetwater Summit Regional Park, 3218 Summit Meadow Road, Bonita, ca 91902.
