Luis Louie Barajas

Luis Barajas, of Spring Valley, CA, died at home on June 8, 2012 surrounded by his family. Luis was born on February 17, 1954 in Tijuana, Mexico to Louis and Josefina Barajas. He was raised with four sisters, Angie, Natalia, Josie and Rosa. He graduated from Castle Park High School in 1972. He went on to attend San Diego State University where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration in 1978. Soon after graduating, he began his career as an auditor and accountant with Vasquez Quezada & Navarro. On October 10, 1981, Luis married his soul mate, Yolanda Ibarra. Shortly after, he was promoted to a partner. There he spent 28 years before moving forward with his career. In 2006, he earned a Masters degree in Executive Leadership. In 2007, he became the Director of Audit and Assurance with Acuity Consulting. Luis enjoyed working out, reading about fitness, watching football and spending quality time with family. He will be remembered as a very loving and respected man with a constant smile on his face and great sense of humor. He is survived by his wife Yolanda, two daughters Adriana and Cristina, son-in-law Michael, one granddaughter on the way, 4 sisters, 6 nieces and 9 nephews. A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, June 17, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Funeraria del Angel Humphrey Serenity Chapel on 753 Broadway Chula Vista, CA 91910. The memorial mass will be on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe on 345 Anita St Chula Vista, CA 91911. He will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Master of Science In Executive Leadership (MSEL) Endowed Scholarship, a scholarship that Luis helped set up at the University of San Diego.
