Leonora Diaz

Leonora L. Diaz, 82 years old, of San Diego, passed away on September 16, 2016. She was born in Agana, Guam on January 29. 1934. She graduated from Castlemont High School in Oakland, California. She married the love of her life, Jose Manibusan Diaz on June 24, 1958. They were blessed with 14 years of marriage and 4 children. Jose predeceased her on December 4, 1972. Their son, Joseph A. Diaz, predeceased her on April 16, 2014.

Leonora was a dedicated employee for Sherton Harbor Island for 24 years. She was a hard worker and was much appreciated by her employers. In her free time, Leonora had a passion for gardening, baking, cooking and going to the casino. She enjoyed

Leonora is survived by her 3 daughters; Catherine Diaz Rocco, Marie Diaz and Monica Diaz Alcala. Her legacy includes 18 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. In addition, her surviving sisters; Rufina Decembrana, Rosario Guzman, Doris Cutler, Ruth Godfrey and one brother, Vincent Lizama.

Leonora will be remembered by all who knew her as a very wise and caring woman. She was a proud and dedicated member of the "Sons & Daughters of Guam Club", San Diego chapter. She was fondly known by her nickname, "Lelang". Her loved ones; siblings, children and grandchildren will remember her as the pillar of their family. She will be greatly missed but forever live in their hearts and in the pages of their memories.

A celebration of life service and visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, California 91915, on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. On Thursday, September 29, 2016, a funeral mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Chapel at 12:30 p.m.

located at 4470 Hilltop Drive, San Diego, California 92102. Immediately following, Leonora will be taken to her eternal resting place at Holy Cross Cemetery, next to her beloved husband, Jose Diaz and her son, Joseph Anthony Diaz.
