Jose G. Villa born Florencio Erasto Jose Villa Garcia was 88 at the time of his passing; it was in the early hours of Saturday February 14th, 2015 in National City California. Born in Acuitzio del Canje Morelia Mexico to Guadalupe Alfaro and Anastacio Garcia Villa.
He finished High School in Morelia. He worked various labor jobs in Mexico traveling to and fro, until becoming a Police Officer in Mexicali Baja California Mexico. He migrated with his 3 oldest children and wife to the San Joaquin Valley to work as a Heavy Equipment driver to provide a better life for them. He eventually moved to the San Diego area with his now grown family of 8 children. He worked at Rohr Industries for many long years until eventually landing a job with the City of San Diego Refuse Collection Department. He was continuously recognized for his "High Levels of Service, Zero Accidents and Injuries", which he maintained throughout his entire career. Prior to retirement he was recognized by the City of San Diego and given a proclamation for being the oldest Sanitation Engineer in the Country with an impeccable record. He volunteered his time to Model Cities, Federal Prisons and various Catholic Charities including serving as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary Star of the Sea. He especially enjoyed driving to San Quintin Baja California and visiting his birth place of Morelia, Mexico.
He is survived by his loving wife Maria Isabel and children Teresita, Carlos, Miguel, Robert, Albert, Ricardo and his brother Felimon. His tradition lives on in his grandchildren Crystal, Tammy, Carlos Jr., Daniel, Manuel, Vincent Michael, Catherine Marie, Maria, Kevin, Mark, David, Oscar, Jonathan, Kristelle, Stephanie, Marcos, Maritza and Great Granddaughter Oni Jasmine.
A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Serenity Chapel during the Visitation, all are invited to participate.
