She was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico in 1945. Elizabeth (she preferred to go by "Liz") graduated high school in 1963 and went on to earn her Associate's Degree in Secretarial Sciences from Southwestern college.
Liz spent 40 years as a school clerk and secretary for the Chula Vista Elementary School District. She retired in 2002.
Liz had a passion for animals, arts, and music. Talented artist herself, she was an excellent painter and sketch artist. She enjoyed working with pastels, oil pants and ceramics. She loved music, especially classic rock. She attended many concerts, including The Beatles, INXS and even Metalica.
Liz loved playing pool, She won many tournaments and many trophies. She was very proud of these accomplishments. Liz loved animals, especially cats, and enjoyed many favorite pets during her life. She was happy to instill that same love and compassion for animals to her family.
Nothing brought more joy to Liz than her grandchildren! Even while living in a nursing home, she found ways to acquire surprises for them. From leftover party balloons, to coloring page, to cookies she knew they loved. she was always so caring and loving.
Liz is survived by her two daughters Glenda and Shannon, and her four grandchildren, Naomi, Ronan, Hannah and Evan. She is also survived by her mother Esther and sister Diana.
Liz was genuinely affectionate, compassionate, considerate, and kind hearted. She will truly be missed. There is a small comfort knowing she is at rest now.
