Dennis L. Carlton, age 65, of Imperial Beach, California passed away on Thursday May 10, 2018. Dennis was born December 27, 1952 in Hockley, Texas to parents Dennis Lemond Carlton Sr. and Mildred Carlton.
Dennis graduated from Andrews High School and did a 4 year stint in the U. S. Navy. He was honorably discharged and went on to form a career in the ship repair business. His last occupation listed him as a Logistics Coordinator for a local ship repair company. During the span of his 35 year career he worked for Southwest Marine Inc., South Bay Boatyard, Kettenburg Marine and Pacord.
On January 24, 1987 he married Vicky Lumbo and was blessed with 31 years of marriage. He and Vicky became parents to daughter Cynthia E. Carlton and son Dennis Ryan Carlton. In addition, Dennis was father to Debbie Renee Carlton and Linda Michelle Carlton from a previous marriage.
When not working, Dennis enjoyed relaxing at home drinking beer, listening to music and occasionally golfing. Another favorite was visiting the Golden Acorn Casino to partake of their generous buffet tables.
Dennis is survived by his spouse Vicky Carlton, his daughters; Debbie, Linda, and Cynthia, his son; Dennis, and his grandchildren; Julissa Carlton, Julian A. Jassick, Farrah J. Jassick, Ashley Renee Vanloon, Alyssa Juliet Pizzaruso, Adrian Jose Rojas, Anthony Michael Carlton, Aaron Ray Carlton, Angel Mario Carlton and great grandchild Chorus D'Mitri Love.
A visitation & celebration of life for Dennis will be held Friday, June 1, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel Chula Vista, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, California 91910. His funeral service will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, 1800 Cabrillo Memorial Drive, San Diego, California 92106 . He will be placed next to his infant daughter, Kimberly Carlton who passed in 1987. Military Honors will be performed under the auspices of the United States Navy.
