Dean Marlow Bresee, 88 passed away on Wednesday August 8th, 2012 in his granddaughters home in Santee, CA. Dean was born October 10th, 1923 in Provo, Utah to Kate and Charles Bresee. Dean was the youngest son of six children.
The Bresee family moved to Chula Vista, CA in 1924. Dean graduated High School from Sweetwater Union in 1946.
Dean served in the US Army in WWII, and later honorably discharged with the Purple Heart.
He met his beautiful wife Dorothy Logan (Bresee) at a church dance in Chula Vista, CA. They were later married in the Mesa Arizona LDS temple in 1947. A year later Dean and Dorothy started there family. They were blessed with five beautiful children Marilyn, Allan, Norma, Keith, and Tim.
Dean worked for his father-in law at Logan's Paint and Linoleum for a few years and had other jobs until he was hired at he United States Postal Services in Chula Vista CA in 1966, where later he retired in 1984.Dean loved the outdoors and spending time with his family and his five children. Taking them to the zoo, camping, fishing, golfing, and tennis.
Dean has a passion for gardening, which would be his hobby after retiring. Dean's faith was an important part of his life, he was an active church member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all of his life. He held a calling at the San Diego Temple for many years.
His loving wife Dorothy Bresee passed away in July 2000.
Dean is survived by his loving children, daughter Marilyn Percival, Allan Bresee (son), Norma Fiehler (daughter), Keith Bresee (son), Tim Bresee (son), June Rinks (sister), Jimmy Logan (brother in-law), many cousins, nieces and nephews,28 grandchildren, and 33 great grandchildren.
The Viewing will be on Friday, August 17th, 2012 at Humphrey's Mortuary: 753 Broadway in Chula Vista CA 91910, between the hours of 4pm to 8:00pm.
The Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 18th 2012 at 10am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints: 1590 East H Street, Chula Vista, CA . There will be an additional hour of viewing prior to the service starting at 9:00am.
Following funeral services there will be Military Honors Service and Dedication to the grave site at 11:30 at La Vista Memorial Park 3191 Orange Street, National City CA 91950. A luncheon to follow immediately after the graveside services at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 1590 East H Street, Chula Vista CA.
