Carlos was a kind and generous father-in-law. He was so kind and loving to my children and we will always remember you "Bump bump".

Mr. Carlos Richardson the Second, Carlos Richardson Jr., I remember him simply as "Carlos". My experience with him was long ago, when I was a child. More than 45 timeless years have gone by if I were to add up the distance in such a measure. He was a dear friend of my parents, Bob and Jean Evans, and would regularly accompany us on family adventures into the wild outdoors in his rugged Land Rover. Most of our travels took us to untamed Baja, beginning in the late '60's, with other vacations spent in the High Sierras together. 

He was not a mere Man to me but more of a Magician. I'm not speaking of the kind of magician that pulls a rabbit out of a hat or one that relies on trickery to fool their audience, no, Carlos was as real as they get. Every gesture was natural and emanated from his soul. Every expression was meant to convey something special he wanted to share. There was nothing forced or artificial about Carlos, he was genuine from head to toe. Was it the beard, a complex and twisted mix of grey and black hairs? Or the horned-rimmed glasses that were a size too small, yet fit perfectly on his face as if he were born wearing them? He clearly and cleverly made a deep impression in my heart and mind that I still carry today. Looking back, I do wish there had been more fun-filled days spent with him in our company. 

Carlos made a notable difference in my life. A positive difference that was handed over freely to me through his interest in who I was. The extension of his knowledge about the way things work, the stars and the mysterious dark places I could only imagine. To generously open his heart to an impressionable child is so rare to find these days. I have always felt lucky to have known Carlos and treasure the lingering traces of his life upon mine. Sadly, I didn't get to see him again growing up and I can only hope he receives my affectionate message today. With what I remember about Carlos' spirit, I believe he hears me.

We are who we are by all those we closely interact with. Be it for a moment, or a lifetime, it is the subtle interactions with those who seem to know the magic of the Universe that always catch my attention. Carlos was just "himself". Happy, giving, willing and selfless with the truths and basic principals needed to live a long and wonderful life. So rich was he, there was enough love overflowing his cup for the rest of us to take a sip from. With deep gratitude towards him, I figured the best way to pay homage for his tenderness was to live my life trying to utilize similar strengths of kindness and caring for those I touch. To leave a sweet and memorable impression. I thank you Carlos for being Carlos. You are at peace within each of us.

My cousin Carlos was a life-long friend that I always enjoyed visiting with over 70-years that I knew him. His smile, laughter and good humor will always be in my heart.

I always looked up to Carlos. When I was a child we learned to water ski together -- I would often ask about outer-space, physics, chemistry and electrical issues that were whirling around in my young mind.  Carlos, without a doubt, was filled with scientific data, and I so much enjoyed his rational and logical, almost professor-like, demeanor.  He helped me gain valuable insight into the more engineering aspects of life, and was endlessly playful and jokey when ever we were together.  He was a dear friend and I am saddened to hear of his passing, I wish him well on his new journey into the afterlife.  My condolences, sympathy, and tender feelings go out to his family and close friends.  Farewell, Carlos, with love, we all miss you.

Carlos was a great friend and loyal Trinity College Alum.  I will miss him, and Trinity will miss him.

Carlos was my Masonic sponsor and my Chief Pilot at National Air College. We flew many hours together he was my aviation and masonic mentor/ My deepest sympathies and condolences to his family. It has been my greatest honor and privelege to have known and flown with this American hero. FAIR SKIES AND TAIL WINDS BROTHER!

Carlos, My sincerest and deepest most heart-felt sympathy for your loss. Your Dad was quite a dynamic guy.  May God keep him.

Our deepest sympathies to your family in the loss of your father.  He was a most impressive man, and we enjoyed knowing him.  We were surprised that he was 91, as he was still very handsome, energetic and clever.  That is a tribute to a full, happy life. It was such a blessing that he lived to see his great-great grandchild.

Carlos was the founding President of the Armed Forces Aero Club in 1967. The Club continues to operate successfully at Montgomery Field. Current Club members are saddened to hear of his passing, and extend condolences to the family.

 The loss of our bump bump has touched us all.  We will miss him more than words can say.  He will always live in our hearts.

CARLOS WAS NOT ONLY MY MASONIC BROTHER BUT MY FRIEND. WE WERE BOTH PAST MASTERS OF JOHN D. SPRECKLES LODGE #657 IN SAN DIEGO. WHENEVER WE PICKED HIM UP FOR MASONIC FUNCTIONS, HE WAS ONE OF THE FAMILY. 
CARLOS AND MY FATHER WERE BOTH FROM COLORADO AND ENJOYED FLYING. MY DAD DIED IN 1996, SO TALKING WITH CARLOS REMINDED ME A GREAT DEAL OF MY OWN FATHER. WHEN JEAN WAS STILL ALIVE, I ENJOYED VISITS TO THEIR HOME. WE AGREED ON SO MANY ISSUES OF THE DAY, AND HAD LIVELY DISCUSSIONS. 
MY CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY. CARLOS WAS ONE OF THE BROTHERS THAT REALLY MAKES FREEMASONRY WORTH WHILE. MY FAMILY AND I ARE GOING TO MISS HIM.
