Cam was born to George and Rosa Anne Malone on July 18 1918 in Lena Louisiana. He was one of 12 children.
Cam joined the National Guard in 1937 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1939. He served aboard the U.S.S. Yorktown in the Pacific during World War II, seeing action in the Battle of the Coral Sea and the Battle For Midway, where the Yorktown was sunk. After the war, Cam continued his service in the Navy, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer in 1959. Cam worked in Civil Service at North Island Naval Air Station until retiring in 1975.
On November 17, 1945, Cam married his beloved “Lorrie”, Elsye Lorraine Lussnig. They have four children Glenn, Darlene, Michael and Patrick.
Cam and Lorrie settled in the San Diego area, where they raised their family.
Cam coached baseball for many years, touching the lives of many young people. In retirement, Cam loved spending time in the mountains of Northern California, where his daughter and grandchildren live. He made many friends in the Yreka area.
Cam is survived by his wife, Lorrie, his sons, Glenn Malone, Michael Malone and Patrick Malone, all of Chula Vista and his daughter Darlene
(Robby) Eller of Yreka. His grandchildren, Alisha (Mark) Wenzel of Sacramento, Benjamin (Teresa) Miller of Eureka, Genevieve (Jeff) Henry of Sacramento, Ethan (Lisa) Eller of Sacramento and Jordan Eller of Sacramento. His Great Grandchildren Grace Henry, Aidan Eller and Greta Eller. His sister Bernice (Welby) Misner of Pineville, Louisiana and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, and his siblings, Nettie, Jessie, Elbert, Etta, William, Almond, Kelly, Robert, Helen, and Clovis.
Visitation will be at Del Angel Humphrey Mortuary, Thursday, May 24 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Services for Cam will be held at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Chula Vista, California, Friday May 25 at 11:00 AM, followed by internment at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery with Military Honors.
